Who are we?
Esco Uganda Limited is a second-generation family business that specialises in promoting, processing and exporting cocoa, vanilla, and other crops from Uganda to the global market. Our mission has always been to train large numbers of small-holder farmers, enabling them to grow and then achieve higher quality and productivity of export crops on a long-term, sustainable basis.
We are the leading Ugandan exporter of vanilla, sourcing high quality, high vanillin and low nicotine beans. We offer certification and high food safety standards in our purpose-built facility. We are also a market leader in cocoa, offering high quality, traceable and certified beans.
Demonstrated by our long history, we are the most reliable counterparty in the region. The company was established in 1956 as Edm. Schluter & Co. Ltd and rebranded to Esco Uganda Ltd in 1994. Since then, the company has been at the forefront of driving the growth of the cocoa and vanilla export market in Uganda, with a focus on traceable, sustainable, and certified products.

Traceability
Esco have invested heavily in traceability and are able to offer EUDR compliance, geolocations, polygon mapping and farmer details with our team of field officers carrying out farmer training, mapping, and certification on a full-time basis.
